I can answer that for you, it depends on what you mean by cheap, to me "there's no such thing!!!!" You are paying a mininum of $1650 (pickup only) for a used LS1 and used LS2's are going for around $5000 including postage on e-bay , there is a bloke on there offering a service where he sells rebuilt LS1's & LS2's for $4500 including delivery but I'm unsure if that's on an exchange basis, that's the road I'd be going down if I were you,for the long term. You could use the second hand LS1 to get you out of trouble but you don't really know how good that engine is (yeah, they're getting old now) it depends on what's wrong with the one you've got in your car at the moment , if the bores are badly scratched or worn then you're going to need new sleeves, that process might cost you $1000 alone to get done if the whole lot of them need replacing, so you'd be better off with the $4500 motor.

Da hoon mate its a piece of crap can't go wrong haha Rb30devl yes you are right the ls1 are cheap for second hand as there getting old but I don't want to buy something that's already flogged out ... The piston rings and all bearings and seals were replaced the heads were redone and it did it 40,000 k after so I've had it with it to much money spent!! ... I've seen him on eBay stage 1 recoc'd engines or something rather... I will keep my eye out thank you Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
