Hi i've got a vn ss LSD diff with 3:08 gears and i want to know if the centre will fit in my standard VL diff, want more fuel economy it would be gd to find out before i start taking my diff apart.

Yes it will, but you will need the 28 spline axles from a VL turbo/V8 diff, personally, I wouldn't go any higher in diff ratio in a 6 cylinder VL, I don't think they have enough torque down low for that, you could fit the 3.45:1 crownwheel to the VN SS LSD centre.
Yeah, I wouldn't be complaining about the fuel economy of an RB30E in a VL Commodore, ,it's really hard to find a 6 cylinder that uses less fuel than they do, the Buick V6 was a dog of a motor but when me & my brother rebuilt one and shoved a Supra 5 speed behind it, he was getting down to 7.5L/100 kms out if it.
I think the 3.08:1 ratio was an option in the VK Commodores with the 202 in it, but that was with the carby engine & tri-matic gearbox, for some reason Holden went down to 3.36:1 with the EFI 202 which only came out with that auto, what you have to remember there is the VL's have an overdrive gear in them to give better fuel economy whereas the EFI VK doesn't.
Yeah, those VK's weren't all that good on fuel either.

Thanks for the info.

How do i put the 3:45:1 crown wheel on the vn ss LSD centre, the VL is goin to slow n usin more fuel to get up to speed n it wont spin the wheels at all.
