Quote: I need a set of decent non turbo vl injectors this weekend Yeah, good luck finding a good set, the best you could probably do is to buy a brand new set of e-bay for $400 including postage. I was wondering if anyone has tried retrofitting the LS1 injectors onto a standard VLT engine as they both use around 24 lb/hr fuel injectors , the only thing you would have to do then is to play around with custom billet fuel rails and see whether the resistor values can be changed in the computer, for example , a standard VL Commodore (turbo or not) uses 4 ohm impedance coils, the LS1's are like 14 ohm , so the resistor in series with the driver transistor in the ECU will need to be changed so the same current flow is maintained. You could also buy a set of XR6 turbo injectors , only if you are going to use an aftermarket ECU because they use something like 42 lb/hr injectors, I'm only mentioning this because the 4 hole design is a lot better than the old pintle design as they seem to last longer and provide a better spray pattern. Once again there , you would have to make sure that can be made to fit by the means of a custom fuel rail and to see if the nozzles will fit or be made to fit into the intake manifold, those injectors are cheaper I think because there is more call for them these days.

the standard ecu won't mind high impedance injectors at all.. less load with ample current switching from the injector drivers circuit. they'll just draw less current.

Had exactly the same prob a week ago Candivl. Leaking at the body. Bought new injectors of e-bay $400 you will see y buying new injector is the way to go when you pull the old ones out. mine where so F'd up and #6 (seem fine no leaking) was cracked. engines 198,k changed spark plugs too. Amazing like its had a Re-build!!! if your planning to keep the car another 6 or more months buy new!
