I am looking at buying a 2009 Xr6 Ute FG model
Non turbo unfortunately cant afford the excessive price tag and dont want to forget the VL ever existed
Anybody own one mostly wondering if they will be allright to tow my VL being only 1600kg towing capacity.
Just want some opinions I really like the car itself alot more then the BA/BF and am pretty set on one being only around $20k with 50,000km on them.
Awesome utes, but they do suck in the towing department. 1200kg for manual and 1600kg for auto. However you can look into getting a heavy duty towing pack for the N/A only which bumps it up to 2300kg I believe. It would be quite pricey from ford though...
Yeah I am aiming for a 6 speed auto.. I will just put a 2300kg towbar on them that should be enough for the car and trailer
I think the Ba/Bf uses 2300kg towbar which is interchangeable anyway on the ute.
G'day guys. Thought I'd bump a old thread. The Girl friend owns a BA XR6 ute with the heavy duty tow bar package. The car weights 1712kg. Do you think it would be safe to tow a VL calais on a car carrier(trailer) behind?
My boss sold his 09 fg Xr6 non turbo ute late last year, was sacked on 19's regularly towed his race car behind it and when building his house towed heaps of steel floor beams etc does it easy
