Deby Gary Myers Gazzanats South Australia PRESS RELEASE It is with the deepest regret that we announce we will no longer be running Gazzanats South Australia. We have been taken by surprise with position we are now in, and find ourselves emotionally and mentally drained and feel our spirits are broken; we have worked so hard over so many years to achieve the success we�ve seen with the Gazzanats SA brand, it was our first event as promoters and we considered it the birth of Gazzanats, it was our baby. Those involved with our event and us personally will fully understand the impact of this decision and how incredibly difficult it has been for us to make the choice to cancel the event. Due to a failure by Adelaide International Raceway Management to support our requirements for a successful show, we are no longer able to stage Gazzanats SA to the standard we have upheld for the past 7 years and had hoped to continue doing for many years into the future. The restrictions being placed on the staging of the event are unfeasible and rigid. We are not prepared to sacrifice the quality of the event we offer, either to ourselves, our Entrants & Spectators. Over the last 7 years we have developed a well proven formula for staging a successful show and we would prefer to end our association with Adelaide International Raceway and retain our pride, as opposed to entering into a contract we believe offers less than we, our Entrants and Spectators deserve. As Drag Racing has now returned to AIR after ten years, we are being advised that we can no longer stage any driving events on three quarters of the drag strip. As previously stated, this is unreasonable and restricts our ability to stage a professional, successful event as per the last 7 years. In conclusion, we wish we had been able to attain a satisfactory working relationship with RINO, from Race on Promotions, in unison with their Drag Racing events, however this has been proven impossible. We thank all our Entrants, nationwide, our sponsors, fans and especially our dedicated Gazzanats Team for all the support. Gary & Deby Myers. Was certainly a decent event, and i understand it would destroy all the preparation and time spent on the drag strip, but couldn't they have negotiated something with mallala?

Good that they arent going to ruin the drag strip that we have waited 10 years to get, but like you have said, surely they could've made arrangements with Mallala

i agree.. malalla with bit of prep work could host gazzanats..

Mallanats can hardly cope with it's own event let alone having 100% ruthless and non obeying contestants totally digging ruts in a nationally recognized race circuit. I'm disliking mallanats more every meeting because of the boredom of tyre smoke and adidas snap pant wearing fist pumpers. Real power takes more than an ecotec v6

As it is, Clem Smith isn't too impressed with MallaNats anyway. If it wasn't making him a truckload of cash, it would stop also.

I've heard they are doing 3 or 4 mallanats next year. Don't reckon there will be room for a gazzanats there to.

MallaNats is crap. They are a bunch of wankers and it's only a one day event. Their idea of cruise the track is driving single file at walking pace and you aren't allowed to break traction. What's with all the negativity between different enthusiast groups? We all love cars

I'll only enter if my mates have their cars finished and entered. The hate between groups I was talking about was mostly on Facebook. It was all drag racers v skidders v drifters. It's pathetic.

I'll enter now If I was guaranteed that something will happen on track while the burnout comps on. However they have never answered any of my questions.

I would like to see that happen as well. should be cruise track for the people that aren't entered in the turnout comp. They aren't having the dyno there this time which sucks. I rang them and they said if they get enough people ring up and complain/suggest something they will look at doing something about it. i will be ringing up about this during the week.

id rather save my mpneu and go to a power cruise haha. but ill mpst likely enter mallants just because its been so long since ive had the car on the rd
