You running some sort of after market management? Otherwise you shouldnt need to do anything other then service it every 10,000Km... Unless some cabbage has gone playing with all the idle/tps/afm and timing adjustments...

You can get a basic tune. Pretty much consists of checking, timing is spot on 15 degrees BTDC. Air fuel mixture correct. (14.7.1, I think) Correct idle rpm. Keeping in mind you have taken care of the other obvious stuff. Plugs, leads, oil, fuel, fuel filter, coolant, etc, I got it thrown on the dyno at power up perfomance in moorabbin And had it done, but got the ignition timing advanced as much as possible. 27 degrees BTDC on 100 octane united fuel and gained 13kw ATW. Try that.

defintly not 27 timing.... and 100 octane united fuel is just 98 with 10% ethanol! only 20 timing otherwise you get ping on 98

Timing is definitely over 20 btdc, and she doesn't ping! If your still running yours NA give it go. Guarantee you won't be disappointed for less than a $100.

Mate no chance your running over 22 without ping unless somethings wrong. Distributor must be out a tooth.. Probably sets it back to 15..

I'll be more than happy to show you. Got a timing light? I'll be over the near the western suburbs on Sunday. BTW,The dizzy is spot on. Have you tried it? The most power I've ever been able to get out stock timing was 90kw at the treads. Bump it up another 8 degrees and see what happens.

Not having a go at you mate, just hate to see you do damage from an undetected ping.

Fair call but, That's why I got the bloke with the dyno to do it, he's got all the equipment. I watched him do it all. And of course I was concerned about pinging, hence the better fuel should allow Another degree or so. I been driving this car for 8 years nearly everyday I would now if it was pinging.
