You can put the Cradle from a VY sedan into a VT sedan... However, you may need to change the exhaust depending on where it runs as some clearances are different.

Do u guys know the diff ratio for a vt gen 3 .... Is it 3.08 Or is that just v6?

difference will be the front on the diff, its either 3 bolt flange that runs the donut or the 4 bolt flat flange. stock ratio was 3.07 for autos and 6s, manual 8's had 3.46 and 3.9s in some hsv models.

Mate if its a vt series 2 then the vu vy ect is a straight bolt up... The yolk flange changes from series 1 and series 2 so depending on what series u have will determine if it will fit or not

If its a series 2 then u can use anything from vt2 to vZ so look around for a 3.7 or 3.9 ect and wake it up

Quote: Does vu by diffs fit in a vt gen 3 ?? Are they differnt?? They do fit but they are different, put it that way, the VT Commodore diffs use the same flange setup as the last of the VK's all the way to the VT series 2 Commodore but then in the VX model, they went for a "3 bolt" flange & rubber driveshaft coupling setup on both ends with both the automatic & manual transmission models, the pinion shaft on the diff and the front yoke that goes into the transmission have a pilot shaft which slips into a spigot bush in the tailshaft. This means if you want to fit that diff into a VY, as far as I am aware you need a VX - VZ auto/manual tailshaft assy for a sedan if it's going into a sedan or a wagon if it's going into a wagon, as they are different from the VT's in the way that they only have one universal joint in the middle, the Getrag 5 speed manual (V6 & 5 litre V8) & T56 Tremec (series 2 V8) model does have a rubber driveshaft coupling up on front though in the VT's They use the same tailshaft in the VT Commodores as the VS Commodores do in the automatic V6 models apparently !!!!
