Along with our event partners, the South East Street Machines, we invite you all to be part of the celebrations of the running of the Mount Gambier Valvoline Autofest & the 35th Show N Shine and we remind you that the 2013 event has been scheduled to 26th and 27th of January 2013.
The decision to merge the two events has increased the number of activities available for enthusiasts to participate in and the Mount Gambier Showgrounds has once again been chosen as the preferred venue with the January climate presenting as conducive also to the extended activities on offer.
Over the years the alcohol free Valvoline Autofest events have developed a circuit that have included, Murray Bridge SA, Corowa NSW, Shepparton Vic with a the most recent addition being the Bathurst Autofest at Mount Panorama Bathurst NSW.
Studies have established that Autofest events provide a multimillion dollar economic injection into the community and a conservative estimate of the Mount Gambier Autofest is in excess of $3 million.
The Valvoline Autofest events are about admiring the best cars in the country with family and friends in an alcohol free environment. Spectators to the event will witness some of the most powerful cars compete side by side in events such as:
Go-To-Whoa  fast paced action where timed vehicles compete over 140 metres and must stop on a designated point;
Autokana  fast paced obstacle course action, set against the clock;
Show N Shine  competitors show their restoration expertise and the beauty of their cars;
Dyno Challenge  see cars go through their gears in a stationary position on the dyno machine;
Burnout Competition everyones favourite event with its fast and furious action, a absolute must to see!
Cruise Track- see these beauty's cruise the showground.
We foresee our relationship with the South East Street Machines, Mount Gambier A & H Society and the Mount Gambier Council will be a long-term partnership.
Council are pleased to support events such as the Valvoline Autofest and Show N Shine that showcase Mount Gambier and bring economic benefit to our community.
We have a long successful history with our events in other locations and the fact that there is strictly no alcohol is a major factor in that. Everywhere there is an Autofest they are happy to have us and were very pleased to be coming again to Mount Gambier.
Autofest is a car festival especially for modified cars, but restored and original cars are also welcome and catered for. A highlight of the event would be the fiercely competitive Burnout Title.

Valvoline Autofest Series 2011-2012 Event Evaluation.
Well the 2011—2012 Valvoline Autofest Series is all but over and for some a rest will come as a
welcome relief after a trying year with bad weather and floods affecting us all but in a few short months we will all at it again.
As for numbers through the gates, these are all over the place for our Shepparton event but whilst Friday night, Saturday and Saturday night were down slightly down on 2010 due to the inclement weather,
Sundays gate was way up so over all very happy with that.
Post media was all positive with police and local authorities indicating little to no trouble throughout the City and we as organisers were very happy that not one Event Competitor received any infringements or fines over the weekend.
Entrant numbers were also strong but the most evident was the quality of the cars overall was way up and this was proved with the judging results that took over 16 extra hours than normal for event judges to get their results into us.
Next up was the Mount Gambier Valvoline Autofest & Show N Shine celebrating its 34th year and again weather was out to try us but this time it was the extreme heat that hit with two 40 plus degree days but again numbers did come through the gates but the length of time of spectator stays were
somewhat shortened due to this.
Post media was again very positive compared with previous years as this year Police did not feel the need to bring in extra reinforcements as was in place in previously with resulted in minimal over policing with media reporting a quiet weekend and again no Event Competitor receiving any infringements or fines over the event weekend.
Then we were off to Mount Panorama Bathurst for the inaugural running of the Bathurst Valvoline Autofest.
Well what a venue, almost everything that we set out to achieve was achieved and from the entrant and spectator response to this event we believe this will quickly become our most prominent on our lists of events that most will put in their “ Must Attend” bucket. Never before have our competitors had the opportunity to perform their still and processes within a confines of a venue like this anywhere in Australia and those who attended as well as those who now wished they did are already committing to being there on March 16th and 17th 2013.
We have also worked with Bathurst Regional Council with changing the event date from 2014 to
coincide with the Victorian Labour Day long weekend thus allowing the opportunity of more Victorian visitors.
As this event coincided with St Pats Day Police were unsure in what to expect and brought in many extra numbers and at the post event debrief with both Police and Council in attendance they indicated that they had no trouble with the Autofest event whatsoever but 5 competitors did receive infringement notices for motor vehicle defects.
2012—2013 Autofest Series marks some significant milestones as the 20th Anniversary celebrations of the Famous Shepparton Valvoline Springnats are making a welcome return to the Shepparton Showgrounds on the traditional last weekend of November with this year confirmed dates being the 23rd to 25th November 2012, add to this the 35th running of Australia’s longest running Street Machine event, the Mount Gambier Valvoline Autofest & Show N Shine and not forgetting our return the Iconic Mount Panorama Bathurst for the running of the Bathurst Valvoline Autofest, there will be Action a plenty installed for all those who attend the Valvoline Autofest Series.
