Yes REGO/VIN Number? - Contact Info Other than this Forum? [phone removed] Description Up for sale is my pride and joy for the past 8 years. It is a Genuine Calais Wagon (A9Y plated). Not a genuine turbo, but converted with the right goodies. It has been off to the road for around 4 years off and on being built. BODY: The body was completely stripped down to bare metal, all rust and imperfections removed and fixed. I spent weeks getting all the body lines to match up and all the door gaps to be as perfect as possible. All mouldings were removed off the car and prepared properly - not just masking them off. As well as all door handles, chrome mouldings, weather strips etc were removed and either replaced or fixed so only the best of parts made it back on the car. Engine bay has been smoothed, with battery being relocated the the boot and wiring hidden. You will not find a straighter VL wagon out there. Only the paint best products were used throughout the build - all clear over base (including bumpers). Door jams were done as well, so it is completely fresh from the inside out. I spent months finding the best panels for this car, and now that the VLs are getting old its very hard to get the right gear. You can see in the photos how well everything is lined up. You can also see in the photos the quality of the paint that was layed on the car, the shine is very deep and mirror finish. It is also a factory VL colour. The car has been rust treated. New front windscreen - both front and rear have new rubbers and mouldings, side windows were cleaned and installed with the best rubbers etc I could get. INTERIOR: Retrimed and refoamed front and rear seats. Door trims, roof lining, carpet have all been cleaned and are in amazing condition - hence why I did not feel the need to replace them. The rear cargo area has been retrimmed to be brand new in a custom dark grey which really ties in well with the rest of the car. All plastics were repainted in the original grey (not the dash). New steering wheels (SAAS), new manual boot and knob. The only thing it could benifit from is a new arm rest trim, same the with the glove box. It is like brand new in there, very comfy. MECHANICAL: Genuine Turbo A8 motor with stock T3 Turbo. The Engine was stripped down to every last nut and bolt. Cleaned inside and out and re assembled with all new gaskets, welsh plugs etc. Anything that needed to be replaced was so ensure it would be 100%. It was a very clean and well looked after motor - pistons etc were pefect so no need to replace. I only semi detailed the engine - a big regret was not taking the time to go nuts in here.. but I ran out of time in the end and just wanted the car back on the road. I have a full custom made 3 inch exhaust from cat back. Turbo has the factory dump pipe, to a 3inch peace maker pipe. Flows perfectly and fits to the body like a glove. This is not an off the shelf item, it was made to suit this car. Under the car has been treated to a fesh coat of semi gloss body deadener etc - looks amazing. Manual MX7 box. Was stripped down, checked over - replaced the 3rd gear selector as it had gone to god. All fresh and like new. Stock clutch. New master cylinder. All bolt ons to the engine were cleaned inside and out - no crap left anywhere. Parts were treated to a coat of paint to keep everything fresh. Brand new LSD Diff built by Cooks Performance. New LSD centre, 28 spline axles, new bearings bushes etc. No expense spared. It is very tight and very comfortable to drive with. I also have an adjustable sway bar to keep everything nice and stiff and centered. It has a VT brake upgrade with the 1inch master cylinder and larger turbo booster. Mechanically the car is great.. no part was left unchecked etc. Car also has a new internal and external fuel pump and fuel reg, new ignition leads etc It also has a GKtech no holes intercooler kit fitted so its nice and legal. I have fitted a boost controller, car runs at an easy 10psi. New SuperLow King Spring Rears and King Low fronts (so you can get a decent turn without killing the brand new gaurds). Car sits great on the road, a pleasure to drive, not harsh. Wouldnt notice the fact it has 19s on it. Now for the bad points: Being that the car is not long on the road it has some teething issues. * Rear wiper and washer jet doesnt work, needs wiring checked * Horn doesnt work, just wiring at the horn behind the bumper needs attention * Speedo does not work, needs a new 90deg speedo drive. The pin was not correct in the one I got, but you can have it to see for yourself * No central locking, was disconected in the build.. have not had the time to fit a new unit and alarm * No radio. (nothing there at all). * Engine bay needs a really good cut and polish to bring it to its best - once again lack of time. * The elec windows switch seems to have a couple of issues.. might just need a good clean. * Elec mirrors have issues as well. I had the unfortunate experience of discovering I had a cracked head last week.. so it is currently being fixed. So it now has a new head, another gasket kit etc. The new head has been pressure tested and machined etc. Will have receipts to prove all this for anyone interested. I am sure I've missed heaps of info, but this is the basics. The body work alone is 15k worth, but thats my loss and someone elses gain. This would be an amazing car for someone, if you wanted to go big setup wise.. its ready to go. I built this to be a show streeter. I have a setup at home to go big.. but Ive lost interest and its time to move on. Wheels ARE included at this price... Please NO SWAPS, dont even bother asking.
