Hey guys thought it was time I did a thread on my wagon I'm building atm as I'm starting to actually get somewhere with it atm.I bought the wagon about a year ago now off a mate who is a mechanic at Nissan when I bought the car it had a smashed front end and was unregistered.came with the following:
5 speed manual,
1 piece tail shaft,
25 spline LSD witch recently had a new set of gears put in it,
ported and polished head,
Custom cam done by Clive cams,
Also bigger valves,
Adjustable panhard rod,
Pedders suspension all round,
And an xf throttle body
I took it to the panel beaters and had the front end fixed and resprayed then had a roadworthy done on it.didn't need much think all it needed was a new set of bushes in the front end and some new tyres and windscreen wich goes to show it had been well maintained and was in exceptional condition for a 20 year old car.I used it as my dayly for about 6 months till the gearbox blow up so I pulled that out and replaced it with a recoed one also put a new heavy duty clutch in it after that was unsure if I was going to keep it or sell it I put it up for sale on here but as anyone that's tryed to sell anything on here would no I got stuffed around and lowballed offers for it I soon got sic of it and decided to keep it not long after this on January I lost my liscence for 6 months .and thought f@#$ it nows the time to do what's I've always wanted to build a tuff quick street car.that night I started pulling the motor out in my garage.starting to loose interest easternats was around the corner so headed up to benella to hopefully come back with some motorvation so I spent the easter weekend up there and came back full of enthusiasm.
I've since finished pulling the motor and box out and decided to smith the bay and prep it for paint I've relocated the fuse box to the glove box and purchased a fully forged A8 motor and stock turbo set up however since buying my motor I've decided to go bigger thinking T04z or 35/40 and that's about were I'm at so far I've got a panel beater comming around this weekend to weld up some holes and remove the battery tray from bay as its going to the boot .then I can get my sand on and start smoothing.
Would appreciate positive comments and constructive comments from other vl owners out there also help on posting up pics so I can get some pics up thanx guys and thanx for reading this long a@# write up.Matt
