hey guys ive wired up my 5ltr in my vl and had it running. but i had to remove the engine to fix a few things. now ive got the motor back in and plugged all the electrics back in and i can hear the two relays efi and fuel clicking when turned on., but my fuel pump is turning on.ive noticed to the wire on the 5ltr plug violet for the pump when its spliced into a power source its not showing any power on my multimeter.i read in tabs guide that the fuel pump wont turn on unless there is oil pressure via the oil pressure switch. could this be the problem

Yeah the pump wont run till has oil pressure as seen in circut diagram, maybe your splice has pulled loose and that why no power

yer i think i worked it out due to my stupidity. when i removed the motor i replaced the sump gasket and drained the oil. and havnt put oil back in yet. so my fault.so hopefully filling it up will fix this problem

Yeah some oil in the engine may help, you may have to put some rubber grease in the oil pump also if having trouble picking up the oil now oil pick up etc is dry the v8 is a pain for not picking up oil when first started after sitting for awhile or repairs

well still cant get the pumps to work. tested power at the relay and fuse at the fusebox and showing power but at the rear of the car at the pump showing no power

Have you tried bridging the 30-87 terminals at relay to see if its a signal fault or wiring to rear of car

Yer bridged the fuel pump relay and with ign on the pumps turn on

Well that means the pumps and wiring to them is fine . It'll be the signal to relay from the ecu its a green with white trace wire should have power for second when ing turned on to prime the pump relay should have perminant earth .. has this been checked

24-05-12, 17:12 GMT+10#13 ok had a look at the fuel and efi relay wiring. noticed the terminals that go inside the relay housing seemed loose.so might just redo the relay connectors to relay. turned the key and she starts. freaking weird.
