Thats good but theres still no 1/4 mile strip between melbourne and sydney?

Nup and there probably won't be. Everything needs to be profitable.. even WSID struggles.
We would have more luck with an 1/8th mile in Canberra, getting it past the people on the other side of the fence has proven to be near impossible.

Looks like it would be a good track for easternats in the future

driftings for fags
and luke, there has been talk between the people behind this and the riverina drag racing association of the possibility of the drag strip being placed there in the future as they been saving up money for quite a few years for a strip in the area

Yeah I heard they had some coin sitting in a bank account. Thats good news, leave the SS in Wagga, go home on the weekends for drag racing.

How long is the main straight meant to be, any possibility of temporary drag racing there? Would be unreal to have another drag strip at all of our disposal'

Melbourne people whinge that Benalla is too far away, what hope has double that distance got for Melbourne entrants?
Any race track is a good idea and I'm for it... it's just that not many people from Melbourne would ever use it.

+ if the planners had any commercial brains and a knowledge of modern and evolving car culture they would put in more bends (for drifting) and a main straight that could be used for drags.
even then if they want to attract race series like carrera's, v8's etc then they would have a great main straight, some great bends for passing / slower passes for spectators and they could have alternate tracks so they could bypass some of the bends if need be.
finally if its for driver training where is the epically wide straight bit for speed and braking demo's and the wetpan??

02-05-12, 23:44 GMT+10#15 The people behind this are fairly switched on, this is only stage one of the track there is a possibility of 3 stages as they are doing it bit by bit with the possibility of a 1/4 setup
as they said rome wasnt built in a day

Something like this takes government support and plenty of time and effort. There would be a few million in doing this right.
