Hey guys did a search couldnt find anything on this particular topic point me in the right direction if so!
I have an "s1" calais and am not super keen on grey interior. that and its got a fair bit of ciggarette damage from the previous owner. my query is has anyone converted their interior without buying another one? can you get your dash and plastics all sprayed another colour if need be? I'd like it to be all "s2" calais BEIGE interior. so the stitching is different on the doors also. anyone done this before?
cheers!

Converted?
Dash is pretty easy to respray, happens a fair bit as far as I'm aware, just have to prep it well, match your colour and spray away.
As for seats/door trims. Probably best trying to track down some for sale. Or simply sticking with existing ones. Everything is interchangeable so it's pretty easy.

Yeah I figured I could find some for sale, but then they may not be in the best nick either. basically want it to be like brand new. I guess what Im really asking is it worth re upholstering everything in the beige material and getting all the plastics resprayed, or look for an old interior in average nick and ending up re upholstering it all anyway because I'm a picky *******. Any previous experiences with this kind of thing?

Without spending a decent amount of coin on getting it retrimmed to look factory, your best option really would be to wait for a nice one to pop up somewhere for sale. If you were going to spend the money to get it retrimmed why not go for something a bit better than factory anyway?

I'd like to see some one re upholster there interior cant be to hard considering the original one is stitched layers of fabric and foam stapled over a door trim. Pease of pizz make a tech article when ur done put it in the needle and thread section.
It's all in the prep with paint. I just finished painting my car this week. Took 5 days .
I'm thinking stitched leather wrapped over the dash like mercs have. Black with white stitching fk yeah that's sexy

i just bought a vgc vlc interior. good ones are out there if you hold out. my 130km vy has drivers seat bolster wear now and heaps of scratches from being a farm / daily driven wagon. its all about how the car is treated. just hold out and buy a good beige interior.
and sell me your grey vlc wheel

Ok I'm convinced! thanks guys I want it to look factory because personally I think they got it right the first time ("s2" anyway the door trims are sh**hot!) I'll try my luck holding out for a beige set. if anyone knows of one LET ME KNOW ASAPPPP
In the meantime I'll start saving some coin and looking at doing it myself. or at least getting my housemate to give it a whirl. she works at a curtain joint lol!

I think you'll find sourcing material will be the hardest thing if you go the DIY route.

its s1 but hey it has rooflining, dash / rear 1/4 parts.... you get the idea. then you just need seats which and doors which will be much easier than all the little bits. trust me its hard to get the fidgety stuff.
