Does anyone have any tips, techniques or methods on installing bushes into the rear lower control arms and the diff housing? These are the ones with the steel shell.
I'm actually thinking of maybe just taking them to a suspension place to do it as it looks like an awful job.

The front lower u can do with a press but the rear ones unless u have a little hand press u have to take the diff out.... I did mine the wrong way but worked......swing the sledgehammer

I made a tool, it pulls the things out with some stiff hammer blows. by far the bigest prick of a job.

I've got a question. I'm doing a complete re-bush of my vl and i'm looking at buying the super pro kit. Are there any places where rubber bushes are recommended for use over urethane bushes? like maybe the rear lower control arms??

I'm keeping the rubber ones in the control arms (which is what I'm trying to install), both upper and lower and changing the sway bar and panhard to nolathane. I don't know how this will go as I haven't driven it yet.

I have no problem putting the diff in thats easy as. I just need to re-bush it before it gets rebuilt and put back in.

12-07-12, 11:53 GMT+10#12 I've got all mine sorted now, I cut the old bushes out. Made up a contraption for the diff bushes. Used a bit of threaded bar to put through a couple of cylinders and tightened with a nut, it pulled the bushes into to place. Was quite an effort though.
