Hey guys, im trying to narrow down and eliminate the last of my problems (finally!) The problem im having is a hesitant throttle response although cable has correct amount of slack, slight miss at idle and stench of fuel. So far ive done plugs, leads, cas a while back, oil + filter and have a fuel filter waiting to go in. AFM read 1.26V which is lean but still functioning correctly and i cleaned it with afm cleaner today as well as contact spray on most electrical components. I found one of my injector plugs wasn't connected properly and not firing at all, after cleaning the connections and plugging them back in it was a lot smoother but there is still a slight miss. Some fire more rapidly than others, so thinking this could be my problem. Still can't figure out my other problems... Any ideas? Cheers in advance Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Fuel smell will most likely be perished fuel tank vapour hoses. Tip while got the tank out replacing them check the in tank fuel pump cos the hose on that will most likely be perished as well causing the hesitation.

Sounds like what mine used to do, a thorough injector service sorted it right out, super smoother idle and fantastic throttle response

Also you might want check out fuel leaks at the filler neck/fuel tank roof junction.

Sounds like an internal fuel leak such as leaky injector(s) or fuel pressure regulator, had one go in my 1st VL which filled the motor up with fuel causing a hydrostatic lock (engine wouldn't rotate). Check to see if there are no loose hose clamp(s) or split hoses(s) causing an external leak , best bet would be to check the fuel pressure with a gauge (should be about 35 - 40 PSI) , 35 PSI at idle.

my injectors go in next week, $150 for service, cleaning and flowtesting. might as well spend the $5-6 and get some new clamps as well.
