transmission lines

hey guys the tranny lines ( steel section) are really bent and out of shape. can i replace them with just rubber transmission hose.the car is a 5ltr vl so would there be ok as long as i keep them away from the pipes. or would i be best to replace them with braided hose

make up some steel ones out of bundy tube as rubber will split/melt and leak in no time
