Would I also need a hub to replace the current disc and hub (VK)?

what other kits do you do to suit vl with 15" rims? or only got 16"+?

tell me i'm wrong but you can get mazda rx7 4 pots with a vhr32 made kit which will fit steelies and vlc rims. thats what i'm aiming for.

Yes you need hubs to convert to the VT floating disc style.
I still do the RX7 caliper brackets but these are made to order.
The Nissan calipers and VT disc only fit 16"+ wheels. If you run a small spacer or attack the caliper with an angle grinder it may fit- depends on the style of 15" wheel and how thick the casting is.
I am getting a bracket machined now to fit 296x28mm VT discs and a brand new four spot caliper which should fit under 15" rims which will be ideal for drag use.

How does the VT hub adaptor work??
As SIRoller i need something which will fit under 15's for drag purposes, but you mention that you recommend the 1" master, will that be enough?? at the rear i had planned on running a willwood disc and caliper setup (drag disc, thin style with large slots) but thats a 4 pot, would a 1 inch master be able to handle 4pots at each corner? (i could possibly order those in a 2 pot to make it easier)
I have a pair of skyline R33 GTST brakes laying around (the whole car actually) and if i could use parts from this it would be great, i just wanna know how the VT hub adaptors work.

VB-VP Commodores have the disc and hub all in one, VR onwards have a floating disc which slips over the front of the hub.
To allow VT style floating discs to be fitted to earlier models, machine shops make up custom hubs, available from a few shops these days.
It doesn't necessarily matter how many pistons, it's more to do with the piston area.
Standard rear calipers have 38mm piston so you would have to choose a rear caliper with a piston area around this size or a bit bigger.
You might want a lager VT master cylinder if you are going to have big rear calipers.
R33 calipers are only for the 327mm discs.
You might be better off going with the new caliper conversion I have in the pipeline, they have slightly smaller pistons than the Nissans so will give you some fluid travel for bigger rears.

Ah i see, i didnt realise the VLs were a brake and hub in one, i thought that was just the rear.
Yeah i'll keep an eye out for it, pretty confused about this whole brake situation, as currently the car stops really well. Just got back from my tuners and he's not fussed on the brakes as we have a chute to slow it down.
But yeah depending on the price i'm keen, as long as they arent billet gold or something haha

07-05-12, 20:44 GMT+10#10 The rear is actually a floating disc too!
Just to be warned, you don't get a good brake conversion for under $1500...
Parts included can be brake hoses, fluid, pads, discs, calipers, hubs, wheel bearings
Most brake hoses should be replaced too, they get cracks in the rubber and are often overlooked. :)
