Done some reading on some threads just wanted to clarify it abit more, just put a good compression (all cylinders around 135) second hand motor in the vl (non turbo) put new water put and gasket, new themostat and running coolant, before i installed the motor flushed out top and bottom hose outlets and heater hoses aswell as radiator FLOWS WELL.Cooling system has great pressure and doesnt leak a drop, Only to discover on the first road test sits on half temp and doesnt go over top hose is hot bottom is cool to warmish, left side is hot on the rad and right side is cooler. Found on other threads to install aftermarket gauge, and im running an aftermarket radiator cap, will geting a genuine 1 help? so my question is: is this normal temp and where does every1's temp sit any help would be good. cheers

All mine have sat 3rd line or there bouts. I'm assuming you've swapped the sender out and are using the original temp sender ,
