hey guys my drivers seat is all of a sudden ****ed, whats happening is it keeps dropping downwards im not sure if there is a cog in the seat which may have stripped, (used to adjust angle of seat) anyone had this before

mine doesnt appear to be broken but always seems to slowly angle backwards by its self. [pisses me off

I've seen a few VL drivers seats that gradually recline by themselves Sorry but I've never investigated what the fix is

Mt passenger seat reclines by itself, just seems to be a design problem amplified by vibration. Doesnt happen in driver seat as there is my body pressure in there. People always ask me who i have been fooling around with as my seat is always super slanted down Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

id be guessing that either the adjuster gear is stripped or something has come loose in the adjuster allowing it to fall down only way to find out is take cover off and inspect

i always thought it was only my passenger seat that slowly falls back the ticking noise it makes drives me crazy so i just wind it back a bit and it stays there there but i always get mates asking who was sitting there last. ive been meaning to look into fixing it for a while now but its one of those jobs that i forget about when i am working on my car.

just had a quick look at one of my old seats n at a glance it looks like der is a toothed adjuster thats rivited together as when i wind it can see the centre bit moving maybe if drilled out rivots youd be able to open it up more n find the problem , might pay to try on an old seat or a wrecker seat save stuffing yours up more by guessing

yer thats what i was thinking i must have to drill them out but then id need replacments for that anyway

exactly it all sounds too hard it be easier to get another seat base from wrecker then put you cushions on so everything still matches etc
