Couple questions regarding tie rod ends for vl manaul steer. - Tie rod ends all seem to use a nylon threaded nut now but what about the plastic washer between the steering arm and rubber boot, that was on the GM versions? Do I need to grab them seperately or arent they needed now. - Due to changing from powersteering to a manual steer I cant judge how many turns the tie rod end needs to go on to be close to the correct spot. Any clues.... Think thats it...... for now..... bloody cars!

I asked about those plastic washers when I was changing my rack, apparently the original design needed them to ensure the boot sat correctly and to help it seal. After market boots have a different design and often don't need them. My rack had only one as the tie rod end had been replaced on one side. As far as adjusting the tie rods you could just measure up the original rack and adjust the replacement rack to the same length. That would get it close, you would need a steering alignment anyway.

yeah pretty much as stated above man, if they dont come with the plastic washers, they arent needed. as for adjustment you can only put them as close as you think and they you need to get an allignment, when they do this they will make the wheel straight also.
