Hey all, Just need suggestions, its not 1 of those what's an overdrive thread or 4th? Threads. Iv owned vls NA autos for 7 years
I have an na that's done 200,k
2.5 cat back zorst. Timings set to 15 deg
And every thing els is stock
What could be wrong when:
1st 2nd and 3rd are fine acts normal
when it hits over drive the revs drop to 1500 normal
But when I go to accelerate in over drive its like pushing a fat bitch out of ur bed. The thing just goes no where.
It climbs at a rate of 2 ks pers second from 70-110 no power at all
Even kick down won't happen till foot is to the floor. No torque ppl
Iv checked timing. Iv changed panal filter. Iv checked vac lines. Afm. It's not Cas. All codes are good. Not excess bk pressure, not blocked cat.
Thinking TPS.
The vac line that goes to top of chark canister to t/b has broken but is blocked.
.I'm going to pull plugs off the auto n contact clean them.
It has a bad earth as when I put my foot on the break it cancels indicators.
Don't meen to get to nitty gritty but but any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks Dusty
Haha yeah thought so.. The trans stick is dark grey whin i pull it out the first time then clean after the 2nd dip.
I bought it for 6 rubbed it back n now the autos going should sell for 3 lol a 6 grand daily will my other Calais 5 speeds going in.
Thinking it blows black charkole shiz out the azz so I may drop n hang the exhaust b4 the cat n see if that's blocked
Low revs low pressure may no be pushing through ( although if the cats blocked it may over heat) I don't know, it's not over heating **** auto lol I'll have a spare soon hehe.
Thanks Milad.

Any one els??
Im pretty sure the autos had a little thrash in the past but this problem feels more like some ones fill the engine with to much oil, honey and flour. Plus the foot peddle is a lot harder to depress. Than any other Vl Iv had!
I've got the exact same problem and have had it with the last 3 gearbox's in my vl. I'm not sure what it is but i'd say it's something to do with the torque converter. i've been told this is normal by a few places but i dont know how something that feels so **** can be normal. my car (on the 2nd box) never did it until a couple of months after going in. i just put in my forth auto box yesterday and its doing the same ****. i'm going manual next just because of this overdrive problem alone.
Lol mate is never pull out a box on an n/a to put an auto in. Ur dedicated. I'm putting an mf5 in the gold Calais ATM n selling the pos red auto Calais. Na just don't have that grunt in overdrive I guess. I
I climbed under there n hit the auto with degreaser n then the hoze nice up in all the electrics of the box.
Theres no better feeling than swimming under ur vl in sand, dirt, grease n degreaser on a 36 degree day. its like it gave birth to me when i slid out from under neath lol.
Then changed the 3ea ecu seems better.
I found when I had an auto VL if the TPS is not adjusted properly or is faulty, the transmission won't have any kickdown from overdrive as the converter lockup part is computer controlled as well as the power & economy modes , you won't see the orange "PWR" light come up on the dash when you floor it if the TPS is faulty or incorrectly adjusted.
She should kick back to 2nd gear , that won't happen if that's not working.
