Hi i have a leaky injector, 2nd from front, was just wondering what is needed to replace it whether i have to part the intake plenum or simply undo the fuel rail to move it enough to get my replacement in?
You'll probably find the injector is leaking from the small hose that runs between the fuel rail & the injector. A few years ago I had the same problem where the hose was weeping. Before removing anything I brought some high pressure fuel hose. About the same diameter as the hose already their.
All I did was started the car. Removed the fuel pump fuse to depressurize the fuel system & allow the car to stall. Undone the bolts holding the fuel rail. Removed the bolts/screws holding the injectors & slowly pulled the hole assembly upwards.
Unscrewed the clamps off that holds the hose to the fuel rail. Pulled each injector off. One at a time & cut into the hose with a Stanley knife because they were abit hard to remove. I think because they had been on the injector for so long & simply replaced each hose.(Of course cutting each hose length the same size that was originally on)
Theres no sign of a leak on the hose section, it seems to be coming out of where the injector goes into the head. I have a spare injector, was just guna swap it out, will that fix the issue?
Oh ok cool thanks, so still use same injector but just replace the o ring? Is the o ring on injector or on engine? Sorry i havnt really had anything to do with this side of things before!

There's a recess in the manifold where the injector sits in for an o-ring. If you undo the 10mm bolt that holds that black plastic retainer thing in and remove the injector, you'll either see the o-ring stuck on the tip of the injector or still in that recess.
