Searched, found many threads with people complaining about their clutch not biting enough and that you can adjust the clutch pedal only on S2 vl's, mines a S1 Anyway I found that people were saying that the best way to have more pedal is to extend the slave cylinder rod, makes sense but how would I go about doing this? Is there a longer rod I can buy or do I literally have to weld a bit off another rod onto my existing one? Before anyone says it, don't really wanna pull the box out to adjust the pivot point. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

wait so your saying your clutch isnt biting hard enough with not pushing on your pedal off umm what brand/type of clutch is it. ie; is it a standard replacement or heavy duty multi plate job. your clutch should be in full bite with pedal off are you running a 9.5 inch flywheel or 10 inch.

Sorry what I meant was with the pedal hard up against the firewall the clutch doesn't fully disengage making it hard to select gears. Exedy HD clutch with a n/a flywheel.

have you tried bleeding it. failing that give your clutch master cylinder a good clean and get rid of the gunk thats probably built up in it. and maybe run a kit through it if you can get one or replace it give that ago. i take it all linkages are straight and no damage to them so you should be getting full pressure to disengage the clutch so thats why im thinking air or master cylinder. let us know how you go.

you shouldnt need to adjust anything, it either needs bleeding or you have an actual problem, wrong thrust bearing or something. did the clutch work properly after the install ?? or has it done this from the start of a new clutch being put in. master or slave cylinder could be slowly leaking, common if original units, look for stains or fluid down the firewall inside the car, to check the slave pull the boot back and if there is any fluid in there your slave is stuffed.

that should be all sweet though if it was working fine in the first place, thats what i ment by shouldnt have to adjust anything. not trying to sound like im having a go here either if it does sound like that. the clutch pedal should be adjusted to sit the same height as the brake or close to.

Haha Ben will drop by soon with a big list of **** you need to fix :P Pumba it did this with my old clutch also, a new box and clutch went in the car with a brand new thrust bearing which came with the clutch kit. I've bled the slave countless times and also swapped the slave a while ago which made no difference. Last night I put a cone nut on the end of the slave rod to extend it a bit, it made a little difference but still not completely happy with it, I guess I should try and replace the master cylinder now? Also the master and slave haven't been leaking at all fluid level has always been the same, I check it regularly.

ok well must be somethign in the pedal side of things, is the pedal the same height or close to the brake height ? maybe somethig is worn in the pedal box.

Can't you extend the rod so the clutch disengages better??
