Hey ya'll As some of you may know i aquired a messed up calais last year off a family friend, who had owned it since new. He had been run up the arse by some stupid woman at a shopping center, and got pushed into a 4WD. Heres when i first went and got it. It was in excellent condition (on the inside) and suprisingly had no faulty electrics at all (crazy right) And theres the old fella who owned it. I think he was kind of sad to see it go. Anywho it drove smooth so i used it as a daily in its shabby condition for a few months, then decided to start stripping it down I tried to take the windscreen out without damaging it but the prick just cracked as i was taking the factory moulds off, so i smashed the **** outta it with a large hammer, instantly regretting it due to the large amounts of glass deposited inside the car. The window rust wasnt too bad at all so i cleaned it up with an angle grinder, the other thing i found wrong with it was it was missing several exhaust manifold studs, probably snapped off by some **** mechanic. Anyway the plans are to just fix the outside and paint it original single tone asteroid silver again, and then stick in all the goodies from my other VL which is getting stripped for a new setup. Engine gearbox brakes diff etc, all getting put in this.
