ok so im putting a 304 into my vl with turbo 400 box.. i read in the tech article that u can still run the stock borg warner diff.. now i understand that some tough cars are still running these diffs and they are proven product definetly. now as im running the t400 im goin to have to get a tailshaft made up so i was wondering whats the best idea? should i build the borg warner or should i save up and put a 9" in? i mean i know theres a big price difference as u have to get 1 shortened etc but i dont wanna go through getting a tailshaft made then brake diffs every second day of the week. i havent got a exact power figure but its going to be a little bit above mild.. so if any one is running the b/w behind ur 304 have u had any problems? did u have to get them strengthened to suit? any push in the right direction would be great guys
thanks

a spooled 28 spline VL diff will definately be strong enough for your "little bit above mild" 304. And if You had one built tuff, i couldnt see a 5.0 breaking it.
full spool with billet 31's.. probs be around 1400 with 4.11 diff gears.. and ur not going to break them
thats what im doing and im aiming for about 300kw...

spend the extra coin and get something good if u ask me...
28's go for around 700-900 and they are 20+ year old axles.. pluss if you smash a axle good luck finding another to replace it..
if u go lsd it will be alot less strain but i wouldnt go 28's with with a spool.. spesh if its manual
all the best
Iv been giving my 25 spline hell with around 190rwkw for the last 6 months and have not had a problem... In saying that im just waiting for it to go so i can get some 31 spline axles and a full spool
