i reckon most of the front end gear and springs would be alright, as there isnt too much that can go wrong, but id imagine those shocks would be sh!tty cheap quality gear. Pedders shocks would be much better

There the same as K Sport one's. I would like to say you get what you pay for but there a tad pricey but it's a small market for coilover's in old commodores so we really dont get our $$$$ worth in my opinion.
And being a Mono tube strut plus not being the quality like Tein's ect. if you hit a gutter (hard) ect.
The shock body will snap in half rather then bend I have one at work at the moment with a K sport snaped where as the oem would just bend rather than the wheel coming off the car and adding a fair bit more damage to the car.
There a good coilover with alot of adjust ability but id rather some oem struts made into adjustable coilovers with some eg. lovels spring's and koni yellows up front which is going to probably run you for almost the same coin so it kind of make's more sence to just buy a set of K-Sports for the money doesn't it.
Also remember with these ebay/K-Sport coilovers they wont come with a stub axle so add extra to get your old stub axles fitted to them.

This is what I got off Pedders
Hi Joel
90/10 struts for the front are $193 each and 50/50 shocks for the rear are $91 each.
If you want coilovers for the front they will have to be custom made an approx. Cost of this is about $550 per side, to run coilovers on the rear would require reengineering the rear end and obtaining an engineers certificate if it is to be used on the road.
If you have any questions please contact me on the number below.

It's a XYZ kit, here's the manufacturers web page.

it all depends on what your going to use it for and how hard are you going to drive it

There are plenty of suspension places out there that will sell the adjustable height tubes and lock nuts etc. Just go out and buy decent inserts and the adjustable tubes, cut the existing spring base off and get a good welder to tig the new tubes over the struts. thats all there is too it. Fabraications in Braeside would do it, so would quadrant suspension in Berwick. For the rear, it depends how fast your going, for a good coil over setup you need to run the coil overs off a bar that runs between the rear shock towers, or reinforce the shock towers and mount the coil overs to them, which isnt a small job. If you not going for a 8-9 sec pass, just leave the standard arrangement with the 50/50's and a soft spring rate.

Do ANDRA let you run welded struts?
best of my understanding in SA if your suspension has been welded, apart from at the factory during assembly. It con not be fitted to a vehicle to be used on the road.
