manual rack steering

hey, has any one tryed to convet power steering to manual by removing p/s pump and just fill the rack up wit oil and block them off . is it hard to steer thanks gerry

that's such a dodgy way to 'convert' a VL to manual steer correct way is to remove the p/steer rack and pump and bottle and buy a manual rack and intermediate shaft and fit them on in their place

Hi Mate I just got mine converted from power steering to a manual rack its not to bad just parking is a little harder other then that its not bad all it takes a little bit to get use to but overall its ok man.

^ya, my power steering drive belt slipped off one night on the way home from work, almost stacked it going straight through a roundabout :S Harder to steer than an old kingswood
