A few weeks ago I put in my new head deck, all worked well for a while then one day it started cutting out whenever it feels and won't go very loud? Any ideas what the problem could be?

Did you wire it up with proper connections? soldering wire and heat shrink or just electrical tape the connections, you can also use a terminal block to wire it up?

It's been soldered and heat shrunk, I can't remember off the top of my head I'll have a look tomorrow. I have been advised that it is very likely to be something inside the unit itself

Is it running with amps too? If so check your remote wire, mine was cutting out and the remote wire has broken about a foot from the head unit. Hence the system cutting out and would come back on n off again
