Hi I've just bought myself a turbo motor for my car. I didn't c motor running because was already out of car. I thought I had a bargain until now. I just pulled off the rocker cover, and the oil is all crispy and black. It gone like hardish. Apparently car was sitting around for 2 years or so. Could this cause oil to go like this or is my motor stuffed?

Can't tell from just taking the rocker cover off. I can garruntee that the oil wasn't changed very often though!!

Yer it may just be that mate. Just a build up of old oil. I'm trying to to a compression test on it but now the starter motor won't throw out lol. I think it should be okay

thats prety normal for a motor that hasnt had many oil changers

Thanks guys I just got in contact with the old owner of motor and he gave me a run down of it. It's just a lack of oil changes so I'll give it a decent flush and get ready to put in my Calais thanks for your help Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
