Hey guys! so i see a lot of these project threads on CT, so i thought id throw mine up. Basically i bought a VL berlina in 2011 for $2000. i bought it mainly because it had original red interior. This is what it looked like when i bought it.
And here's the interior.
It was originally going to be a filth pig on its guts haha see,
However, one sad night on Clarinda road, it hadn't rained in approximately 5 days and trucks use said road to transport goods to factories.. So you can imagine it would be slippery in the wet.. It just so happens i started driving home from a mates, the rain picked up and i misjudged the round about (as it was a little more pronounced than usual) and spun out, demolished a keep left sign and my poor baby looked like this..
As you could imagine, i was shattered, i spent countless days saving for it, and being a student at 19.. i found it hard.
Luckily for me i came across this gem, an '88 Series 200, only 600 were made, White gold over champagne (correct me if im wrong). It was out of rego and in a worse for ware condition in terms of the exterior. the interior isn't too bad.
Essentially i plan to keep it as clean and as stock as possible. im trying to stray away from making it look like all the other vl's sacked on 20's (not that i have anything against gawking at them!). it'll eventually get a respray of the same colour, maybe have some engine mod's to keep it running well or better for that matter. Keeping in mind im only on green P's and will be a little while before i think of Turbo kits.
Let me know what you guys think, any suggestions would be awesome. any tips would be appreciated too! Enjoy
(This was the day i got it)
The interior.
I dont have the original Rims for it. its sitting on some interceptors.
The rear bar was broken, so i took that off including the front bar.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
