I'm in the same boat mate. I'm producing that sort of power and don't know what trans to use. I'm leaning towards a turbo 400. It can handle over 1000bhp when built correctly. It's a Three speed so still streetable. Can use original turbo 400 bell housing and Converter. Just need adapter made. Any good trans shop will build one for you. Easy resale. Who's not looking for a turbo 400!!! Other option I'm looking at though is a power glide. Trimatics and jatcos with that power you are making I wouldn't trust it well not for around $4000 which is what it will end up costing you. But totally up to you

Wouldn't touch either with 400kw+ to be honest. The only autos i'd really consider are a c4, turbo box or a glide. That's probably the order of the build prices aswell from most expensive to cheapest.

TH400's dont like gearing down on the street if i remember correctly, build a glide and if u respond "It's for street" thats a terrible answer, top gear is still 1:1

100% build a powerglide! We get them built with trans brake for a really good price if interested hit me up a pm. We use these glides in our own cars on the street and theyre perfect!

ive been in a couple of cars now with a glide and i was surpriced at how well they were on the street. thats what i would pick as you can build them to hold big hp and never look at it again. each to there own but i think the c4 would be good to but have never had one too know.

what is 1st gear ratio in the c4? and how much is a c4 worth adapted to suit? would stay away from both jatco and trimatic with 400rwkws+ like mentioned above powerglide is normally allways cheapest and easiest and will handle alot more then 400rwkws with the right gear inside
