Gday all, I have reading about all your builds for a while and thought id better but some up of my new toy. Make / Model: 87 calais Colour: white/silver Bodykit: calais Engine Type: rb30 (converted turbo) Engine Mods: head cam garret Power: 13.2 @100mph Exhaust: full 3" Gearbox: mx7 Diff: 28spline LSD Brakes: Vl turbo Suspension edders/king spring Wheels/Tyres: 20" Interior: blue calais Stereo:alpine Other Mods: Future mods: I brought a 87 calais converted to manual turbo about 4 mths ago. I didnt really want to buy another one as i have already had a few vl turbos. in the past and were never happy with them. Anyway i went over and had a look at this one and was amazed of the condition it was in. the exteriour was 99% interiour 99.5%, 177000 orig kms, every recipt since 92, but the biggest issue was the engine. It had done a head gasket and the bloke could not afford to fix it so sold it as is. Engine dissasebled. I got it for a steal, brang it home slapped a head on it and took it in for a rwc. Only needed 2 wheel studs, remove front tint, reverse lights not working, and new wiper inserts. so was pretty impressed with that. The head i put on didnt last long so i got one built, new cam (230/230 112ls), valves, timming gear ported ect. i decomed the engine (a6 bottom end) put it back together and sounds and goes grouse. Ran a 13.2@100mph full trim, on 20s with stock comp and tune. After seeing all your guys engine bays i was pretty imbaressed about mine so tonight i have started to pull the motor out. got a list of things to do while its out. Smooth/respray engine bay fit plenum fit microtech lt10s hide wirring freshen bottom end up and paint motor. make new cooler pipes. here is a few pics Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
