Hey boys and girls, just wanted to introduce my new website that I've been building over the last few months(www.hirearide.com.au (http://www.hirearide.com.au)). It's basically a site to advertise your car (or bike) for hire for weddings, formals etc. (You don't have to pay to throw an add up so that's the only reason I havent registered as an advertiser, however if mods feel that i should then I'm more than happy to, just notify me). I just want to try and build up a database of cars on the site for the time being, so once you set up an account which takes a couple of mins, just list your ride (FOR FREE) by selecting "premium listing" and fill in the form on there until you get to the paypal button page, click on the button and once you get to the paypal website just click back without paying and that will send me a notification. Then just send me a pm with your user name and add title and i'll activate your listing. I know the website's nothing flash but it's still in development so i'll happily take any criticism on it good or bad. Thanks for taking the time to have a look Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Thanks alot man appreciate it. I'm not expecting (or even really wanting) to make much, if any, money off it as i'm honestly moreso doing it to satisfy the enthusiast in me lol

Essentially it's just a place where people who are looking to hire something go to to see whats available, and for ride owners to advertise their cars for hire All communication is directly between the customer and the ride owner. Payment and bookings are organised privately between the two, just like is done on this forum from time to time. This was just an idea i had while overseas last year so though it wouldn't hurt to give it a go. Plus listings are all free for the time being so owners have nothing to lose besides a couple of mins Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

BMWs wanted? Have you made a Facebook page yet? or are you making one once the business is up and running? It'd be a good idea since alot of the market will be younger people

Yeah will start marketting it properly once there are a few cars on the site, otherwise it's just pointless. Quote: Originally Posted by Woggster [View Post] BMWs wanted? It's kind of a 'play-it-by-ear' concept at the moment, and how much i market the site will depend on how much interest is guaged. Cheers

Good idea, a great way to put people together. However... There is legal issues here you may want to look into in regards to hiring a personal car out for money. As the website develper you may or may not be opening yourself up to litigation in that regard if something goes wrong.

I've tried to cover myself in my 'terms and conditions' for the site, however i can't see an issue arising out of it at all. I'd like to think that targetting mainly car forums/sites should attract car enthusiasts rather than dropkicks looking to scam a buck or two. At the end of the day, my intentions were basically to bring car enthusiasts who own sought after rides with car enthusiasts who can't afford to, together. It happens all the time anyway, this should (hopefully) just make it easier.

its still the fact people are paying for basicly a taxi ride. I know in QLD you cant accept payment in anyway for it.

Thanks Duke and Andy. Matty, if ride owners choose to take the risk and hire out their ride without relevant state government hire licenses (which happens 99.99% of the time anyway at every school formal/wedding), then that's upto them. Once again all I aim to do is provide an advertising space for cars. But speaking realistically now, hiring out rides privately without appropriate licenses happens all the time. It's a part of the modified car scene lol

Good idea. I'm pretty sure you actually require a chauffer license or something similar, do you know if this is the case when hiring out your car? Also in the unlikely event of an accident does there need to be special insurance? How will someone know that the car they're getting in to is even insured or registered?

Not sure if you are assuming that the hirer drives the cars, but just to clarify, it is the ride owners who drive their own cars and those who request a lift will be passengers. Regulations for licence requirements vary from state to state, so it is the responsibility of the car owners to ensure they are properly qualified should they wish to do so. Insurance and Registration COC are an easy request to make should a hirer feel suspicious. Once again, the whole scene of private ride hire is an informal one and always has been. This is just a means for getting the two parties in contact

At the moment state can be selected as a search criteria Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
