sorry got some bad news for you the VIN plate indicates it's a N/A Calais (8X196) , if it was factory turbo Calais it'd say 8X198 the body and option ID plate 'says' factory SI manual turbo but check out the rivets though on that plate, it looks very much like they are 'new' non genuine esp the lh one in the pic therefore it's dodgy and certainly NOT a factory calais turbo manual car

Does this prove anything otherwise??? the VIN plate number appears to match the body number on the compliance plate. Thoughts?????

i ran the vin number 8X196GL222208L Your car is a Holden Calais Sedan From the factory it was equipped with the Non-Turbo Nissan RB30E producing 114kw at the flywheel. It was produced in 1987 at the Adelaide plant with a serial number of 22208 so weird unless the to silver plates have been changed along the lines somewhere in its life but needless to say very odd

just looked at this again and noticed that the number on the painted VIN plate actually seem to match the body number on the body and option plate it's almost as though the VIN plate was incorrectly stamped as a n/a calais body however the rivets on the body option plate still look non orig can you post up the full actual chassis number that's stamped on the lhs strut tower
