looking for some advise on what clutches are good for a na to turbo convert using the mf5 (yeah i know its prob not gonna last) i was looking at/thinking bout getting a 5 puk ceramic button na clutch then found a Cushion Button clutch for the na ( still a full disc, has button pieces on it) anyone used a cushion button? will it hold the boost? (nothing major, intercooled, stock turbo ecu and injectors, after market turbo manifold and turbo - will only be running 10psi) or should i just get the 5 puk ceramic button and be done with it? cheers

dont quote me but im pretty sure that r32 ect skyline run the same diamiter clutch as the vl na so may be cheaper to go that way.....i could be totaly wrong though like i said i think thats what i heard

Wouldn't you be better off getting like a exedy hd clutch, and not spending so much on a ceramic one? And then when your mf5 goes and you put another box in then spend the extra on another clutch?

i actually rang up hi octane direct today and they have a cushion button for $565 for my r33 box... not sure about mf5. Suit VL na fly wheels 9.5" Claims to hold 240-260kw at the wheels. http://www.hioctanedirect.com/index....tapepkj9920ep6 (http://www.hioctanedirect.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=29_51&products_id=243&zenid=2q7m0c7sa8mstapepkj9920ep6)

the money you spend on that mf5 is going to be waste a if you plan on doing future mods, if i was you i would go to a jap wreckers and get an r33 box with a clutch. That way i think you would be safe with the standard clutch, just make sure you get a good one you are sourcing the box. for the price of a clutch for the mocaF5 add a few hundred more and get your self an r33 box.

yeah for how long? mf5 is a waste of money, how long before syncros and thrust bearing start playing up. Last thing you want is being out friday night on the hwy and you drop the clutch and then bang! Whats the point of having a turbo to baby it around because your worried about the mf5 going bang!

my MF5 has lasted just over a year now!!! (**** that sounds like an achievement) 9 of them months, its been sitting behined a turbo'd motor. using an exedy clutch, as the other i had, i broke the pressure plate around a spring. i haven't babied it around, this gearbox has lasted the longest of all my 5 others. i'll suggest, just use whatever you can find, until you get an R33 box
