ideal way to learn more?

hi recently I've taken a great intrest in cars. i want to learn more about overall modding and how everything works? any suggestions on how or where i can start? I apologize for the nooby Question

You need to think about what you want from your car and how you want to drive it, eg just to look good, mild street performance, track racing, drift etc. Then check out as many cars as you need in that area to see the final product, buy some mags, talk to owners you may meet, go to car shows. When you have an idea of what you want, break the car down into specific sections, wheels, brakes, body(appearance), engine performance etc. Have a look around the forums at topics that spark your interest and research it further. You can speak to mechanics in general aswell, or others with experience to learn more about the different systems. The tricky part for a newbie is picking someone who actually knows their stuff, not just think they do. Do some research , but breaking it into specifics makes it easier to comment.
