Hello everybody. I'm new to these forumsso i apologize if this is in the wrong section. I was wondering, what would be an ideal first car? I plan to mod it slowly. I was thinking about vn Calais but am unsure of the price, performance and difficulty to mod.
Thank You

VR/VS/VT Commodore. Common, cheap, crap loads of parts and reliable. If you want an automatic one they can be found everywhere. A VN would also be a good car aslong as its not too high in the Ks and hasnt been thrashed (This goes for all cars though)

yes as above go a VS commodore, cheap for parts and they go relatively good for a p plater legal car.
not much point modding it as the gains arnt that noticable compared to a vl turbo for example.

If you're a young bloke & it's your first car get something that's good on fuel , will be reliable and not too expensive to buy and repair . Id be buying a corolla or something & drive that till you can afford the car you really want . I've got a vs ute that i drive every day , stock v6/auto and that gets 280-300 kms to a tank .

Get a charade if you want something that is popular with P platers & drinks almost no fuel
