Fox population is basically at maximum it can get to due to the state labor gov's idea to remove the bounty over 15 years ago.
So anywhere you find water, you'll find foxes.
Pups are starting to go out on their own and are quite gullible.
As for rabbits; north/west. When we go around Kerang it is like a shooting gallery, you can't shoot or reload quick enough. A few hundred rabbits in a couple of hours is the norm. Normally see a fox or two as well, but you have to be quick; whisltles won't work as they already have a smorgasbord of mice, rats and rabbits.
There is a cheeky fox pup who goes through my front yard everynight, that is going to meet my Savage+ Sea Lion Hunter combo very soon.

Bunyip state forest. You really need a paddock so you can see/trace their eyes. At night I mean. It's only time they will come out.
Rabbits, Pfft, I nearly run over about 10 a night lol.

Foxes are out during the day, but are more active around dusk/night
