What's your budget? S2 Stagea sounds like what you want.

yeh im keen as for a stagea but have heard theyre not strong enough to comfortably tow a car. so not really sure if theres anything else other than a bommadore or ford lol

Beware of the Stagea, Ive had 2 come into my work with stretched timing chains.
Not fun to fix, and certainly not cheap......

?? they have RB25 enigines that run timing BELTS not chains.. Not hard to change if You have any kind of mechanical knowledge. I have seen them used as tow cars towing track inports, probably a little lighter..
LS1 powered VY Berlina or SS wagon would be ultimate I reckon. They can be found with sunroofs and they are comfy and nice to drive. Looking at around $15k which is about the same as a tidy S2 stagea.

yeh the series 2 have a 2.5litre v6, similar to a v35 skyline, so there abit more unknown than a basic rb. im starting to think that a late model conmodore with the bells an whisles might be the go as a daily rig.

As much as i hate to say it, i reckcon you need a Falcon wagon or a Territory. Any type of Commodore would be ok to, but biggest issue with them is IRS sags too low (unless you get a VT or earlier, which are still live axle) so you will scrub tyres badly without an appropriate camber kit.

VS was the last of the live axle. The series two stageas have Neo RB25's. M35 Stageas have the V6..

Surely you need a deisel andy, not an auto import skyline??
if you were towing your vl regualrly id say the stegea wouldnt last two years.

28-01-12, 06:01 GMT+10#13 I am currently shopping for a daily driver. It must be comfy, electric windows and climate control are a must. And it's gotta tow my VL every now and then. With a budget of $9k I'm looking at WH statesman LS1 or maybe even a late model VS caprice L67.

28-01-12, 07:54 GMT+10#14 the super6 calais vs aren't the best for towing i had one and it struggled a bit and sat very low on the rear with standard springs

28-01-12, 08:51 GMT+10#15 If you tow rarely then a commodore is ok with helper bags in the back, but if I was towing it regularly I would be looking into something more industrial.
I got a D-Max for that reason and it tows a VX Commodore + trailer really well.

ahk yeh. pretty much atm im building a car, an may potentially need a car to tow it around for a while. its not a massive neccessity, but i guess its good to have that ability. so not totally sure whether ill go a truck/4wd style or stick to a nice wagon... im not a trady or anything so its not like i need one for work or anything so...
