well a tuner woud come nder the MVRIC and MTA in NSW and is clasified as a motor mechanic the award wage is about 38000 a yearand good tech could ask for over 50000
i was thinking about this earlier in the week
say 500/tune on average 1.5 tunes a day if your in a good business
work 5 days a week your looking at 7.5 * 500 = $3,750/week turn over minimal cost because dyno maintenance
if you were a good tuner you could ask for a bit based on that
Two of you could have a crack at your business if you could keep costs down and still get the consistant sales?
$195,000 per year sales
less rent $60,000 pa
less $7000 or 7% interst pa on $100,000 equiptment finance
less Wages for 2 people $100,000 pa
then Super Anuation 2 people $9,000pa
Taxes? $28000
Accountant $4,000pa
less public liability insurance 4,000pa
less fire and theft 4,000pa
I have a small mechanic shop and always thought about going more into performance. Tuning that is. If I ever did go down that road i would prob want to employ someone who has good tuning knowledge in most of the common ecu's and hp tuner ect. Would be good to have an idea how much they get and how hard it would be to find someone.

That's not a real good business model lol.
There's definately money to be had for someone who can get results and who is customer focussed in this industry. People are sick of paying money hand over fist for incomplete work and poor service.
The main thing would be getting enough cars in and out the door constantly.

see this is another thing about business, your not just employing someone or an apprentice type situation you will also get a lot of this contacts coming through the door
you pay him $60k or what ever a year but he brings in the door $80k worth of work
