hey guys sorry to be a real pain i know theres a sticky article on the 304 into vl but i was wondering if someone could do a sort of half detailed list of what is needed for a conversion? ive read the sticky and it gets very confusing when u have to go back 4 pages to read the questions then go froward again to read the answers so if some could do it that would be great just basics tailshaft, rack etc etc i know its sort of covered in the sticky but please any help would be great!

vl rear mated with the front half of the vn/vs auto tail shaft you have. vn power steering rack from what i have seen[i used manual vl steering so cant confirm]. im sure pacemaker do a header for this or you can save alot of money and get away with the hsv style headers but im unsure if this will hit the vn rack.

Don't use the castlemaine kit just get a vn-vs v8 k-frame. Bolts straight in. Ifyou need help mate give me a yell I live on central coast and just did this conversion myself. 2nd conversion in dame car. Car started as an auto rb30. Then I changed to manual rb20 turbo. And now it's manual injected 304 from a vr. I've 100% done the whole conversion myself write down to wiring the engine and all the dash etc. Not too tricky really, need any help let me know. I'm on the central coast too. Where u from?

hi scott im in berkeley vale i looked at doing it both ways with the kframe or the kit. the kit isnt that expensive and ive got a mate who used it and said it was easy to install etc. but he only did the motor side of things. im a mechanic by trade so i should be right but really really appreciate the offer and dont worry if i need a hand ill definetly look you up. plus im not doing the conversion for at least another 8 months but even then ill be driving my other vl so there wont be a huge rush to get it done, but its always good to have the extra set of hands around especially someone whos done it before. also if u need a hand with anything u got going, same goes to you if you need a hand get in contact and id be more than happy to help thanx trev Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
