hello all. thought id post a thread for barn finds on old muscle cars. upload pics if you have any. i will upload some of a guy i know in country vic. these arent super rare cars or anything but old holdn lovers will love them. now there's a bit of a story behind these and how i new about them. back in 2000 i was looking for my first car.i new about all these toranas etc this guy had.so i ventured out to see this guy. it was a toss up between the brown ss hatch in the pics or the green torana seen in pics also. i ended up deciding on the 4 door because of the price was cheaper. anyway because i was just about to get my liscence i purchased a vh already on the road. now i am spewing becasue he wants 8x the amount he origionally wanted for the ss hatch. 12 years on i contacted the guy and when on holiday i visited him and he showed me around showed me all the gear he has etc i have to contact him in a few weeks but hopefully i can pickup what was to be my first car the green sedan, mod plated for 350 chev etc enjoy the pics ---------- Post added 02-01-12 at 12:47 ---------- ---------- Post added 02-01-12 at 12:48 ---------- Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

trouble is so many of his cars are outside deteriorating bet he keeps most/all of the cars, these people are hoarders and have trouble parting with their stuff

yep you are on the money. thats why i have to get in contact with him in the next few weeks as he had to sort out what was going and what was staying. but i guess some people need the $$$$$ thoe. most of the good stuff is in the sheds.but there's still good stuff outside.all i want is a 4 door with a good body. looked at an slr that was there.had the origional battery terminals and it had not seen the road in 20 years.he put some fuel down the carby and it fired up like it was a new car.......i could have spent the whole day there

But i agree there are some cars in there that i would love to bring back to life

I know of several, but the owners don't want anyone and everyone knowing what they have or where they are. One guy i know keeps his good cars in a shed; white convertible hemi challenger, olds 442, A few Torino GT's, 426 chargers, cudas etc. His really good cars are at his mums, and no one sees them. There is a plethora of old american and australian cars at his place. He knows that he cant take them to the grave, and his kids have no interest, so he is slowly getting rid of them, and just keeping the rarest and the best. I know of a few others who are quite secretive too. Mainly monaro jerks, but a few ford jerks and other collectibles too. By and large people who have these 'collections' dont want people hassling them and rocking up out of the blue, let alone casing the joint and then rolling stuff later on.
