got the book to tighten my bands yesterday/change filter fluid in my turbo jatco. problem is it used to slip underboost in second (high reving) while tightening the bands i had the tourqe wrong on the bar was prob about 40nm approx as im tighening i heard a bang and looks like ive lost some lenth of thread coming out of the servo. i thought oh no ive rooted this but i undid it recalibrated the tourqe wrench did it to the right nm then i go to undo and after 1 turn its loose loose. is this normal? 2. i didnt loosen it a full turn mabie half a turn its slipping on and off in second gear. like dropping the gear completly and coming back. in first it revs hard before it changes then shifts tight. do 80/100km plant it and its going back to first :\ is the a remedy tho this. have i destoryed the box? ---------- Post added 28-12-11 at 14:32 ---------- i may not have explained myself properly and probably randomly rambled so if there something your not sure about in my question ask me so i can reaffirm it thanks fonz ---------- Post added 28-12-11 at 14:34 ---------- its just always kicking back to first gear. its only smooth and slow driving it doesnt play up. its waiting till about 3/4000 rpm to change into second from first. under full throttle it doenst change at all :\

I can't understand exactly what you mean, but it sounds like when you overtighten a hose clamp - it can never achieve proper torque again because it keeps slipping back down the thread.

It's good that you're having a go at this as not many people would. But would you consider taking it to someone that knows what they're doing before you wreck it and you're up for a whole new box? I've been reading over the threads you've been posting over the past few days and it doesn't sound good!

i got it back together and it drives. and no longer slips just have this kick back problem now. the box was dodgey and ive planned for a rebuild and if i failed i was going to rebuild the box...probably still will anyway. im just playing around with it. basicly yesterday a pin fell out....mabie ill just take it to a trans shop and be done with it.

Good on you for actually pulling it apart and giving it a go man. Auto's are something I'd never open!

if it wasnt for the dodgey tourqe wrench i actully probably would of succeeded. i lost a pin out of the valve body i worked out where the pin went by trial and error plugged all the wiriing in...then it all went bad as i tried to adjust the band incorrectly. i mean it drives and drives normal under light foot. just cant work out why it always wants to go back to first gear
