Hi Guys, does anyone have any feed back on how the GTX series turbo's have been performing, is there much of a power gain to be acheived 35/82 with 1.06 versus GTX35/82 with 1.06. i know they say there only good for an extra 50hp but does anyone have any Dyno results.... Cheers Brett

I've just replaced my .96 T04Z with a 1.06 GTX35. Going on the dyno this week hopefully. I'll post some results. From what I've read on sau they are basically the same as a regular GT35 power wise until you start running 25psi +

I've heard much the same although 30+ psi is where the gains are. If your motor is built for 400rwkw+ by this stage it'd make more sense to go something slightly bigger... The precision range could be worth taking into consideration.

I've heard mixed opinions about ball bearing cartridges & bush cartridges. Spool will be better on a ball bearing cartridge also life. But I've also heard a bush type bearing system is also good. But mainly on high revving engines. Sorry I've had a few now since work so I might be talking abit of bullsh!t.

I fitted a gtx3582r to my vl Calais when I freshened up my setup this summer break. Made exactly the same power on 24psi as I did with the gt3582r. I think at 30+psi you will see gains. Check out the overlayed map of the two turbos. http://www.atpturbo.com/root/release...82Roverlap.jpg (http://www.atpturbo.com/root/releases/images/release111110/GTX3582RandGT3582Roverlap.jpg) the biggest difference is how much quieter the gtx seems. Also the gtx comp cover looks much cooler. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

My tune didn't quite go to plan so will hopefully be back on the rollers in the next week or so. As long as its more responsive and makes more power than the T04Z it replaced I'll be happy. You are right about how quiet they are turbro. I was expecting a T51R whistle like the GT3076 has with the same style comp cover

I've heard the T04z series are really good. Just haven't heard many bonus's or good reports of the GTX series. I wonder how a T04z(1.00AR) & a GTX(1.06AR) will go together. Which will be better I know the GTX series are better than the GT series butttttttt. Someone please give us some good info(stats) or reports which one will perform better. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I was going to get a GTX but ended up just getting the standard GT35. I couldn't justify the extra money for something that is almost the same. To be able to see the benefits you'll most likely be on race fuel racing it which might be once a year? Value for money the GT35 is awesome and has been proven to break a full weight VL in to the 9 second zone yet still be probably the most streetable turbo out there.

would it be worth considering the swap from a GT35 1.06 to a twin scroll GTX35 1.06 setup? would there be much of a gain in response? i spose it would be hardly worth the cost of changing manifolds etc

Setting up a crank trigger on it at the moment. Should hopefully be running again in a few days time. With any luck this should fix it. I think the timing jitter has been an issue all along though, just it was picked up on this time
