hey guys just wanted to know what oil type and brand people are using in any worked jatco 4 spds and even maybe why, A trans guy said to use transmax z (full synthetic oil), yet another bloke from a converter place has said not to and stick with dextron III or similar as that what the box was built with back in the day even if it has been built so any input from people running these would be great cheers

Dextron 3 in my jatco. If you're harder on your parts, service in more regular intervals. I think the new synthetic grades have higher heat resistance and don't break down as quick.. But I've never tested... The old Transman might be able to help.. Mr KEAS

Fuchs do a DIII which is ATF4000... Its a semi synthetic and is cheaper in some cases as its a 5L instead of four.. Transmax Z is the synthetic equivalent at around $80 for 4L Its a very popular oil.. highly recommended

Use whatever the box builder recommends or it may void warranty. I got mine built by Al's Race Glides and he said to use only Transmax Z
