Basically my setup consist of built motor, gt42, e85, built diff, 33box with dcs twin plate and intend on pushing 40psi thru it, now everything is up to the task and I'm worried about the tailshaft crapping itself on the 2step! I've spoken to a driveshaft builder in wa and recommend upgrading the thickness and unis but still states the the 33 yoke is still a weak point! He's sent off a sample to the U.S to get them remade in billet but there still awhile off! I know a mx7 tailshaft will be fine for dyno time as the car isn't under sever load but I intend on racing it after cpl dyno shows and cage gets put in! So basically wat are the guys with tuff manuals running tailshaft wise? And the costs to have urs made up.

I actually dug up ur thread in turbo section and asked the same thing, i mite just get mine rebuilt an hope for the best and look into getting a billet one made up! Is urs a mx7 tailshaft? Or does it have the 33 yoke adapted? If mx7 any chance u have the measurement for it as the one I have seems to stick in the back of the box just barely and could possibly get the front shaft extended by another 50-70mm, same as a mates who added 50mm to his :-/

If you guys are half serious I could look into getting carbon fibre tailshafts made for you.. Whats the spline count and diameter of the R33 Yoke?

I could look at getting some billet yokes made up, mines running an MX7 and is my daily so i cant pull it off to get dimensions, but if someone knew them i would make it up in CAD and stress test it with FEA to see how well it would stand up to punishment

Haha, Sorry bud. I'll do some tentative talking. I can get them made in whatever length it will just be the couple at both ends which will need sorting out. They are $180ish to ship and about $1000 bucks from memory. Rated at 1000hp and a 4000lb car. So rough a 150mph late model commodore.
