Hi Fellas, Still in the process of doing up the ol' VL. Its an original police spec 308. Just about to drop the new 308 in it which has 400hp at the fly and wondering if im going to have to upgrade the original brakes. I believe the brake system is all the stock V8 stuff, the rotors are 300mm and just has the old single piston calipers. I was just gonna put new stock rotors and refirb the caliper pistons. What you fellas reckon?

Well drive the car within its capabilities and you will be fine for street duties. If you want to drive it a bit more excitedly yes brakes are a good idea. I personally thought that my brake upgrade was one of the best upgrades I did in the car.

Power should not be a factor ^^^^ It is always a good idea to upgrade but not a necessity, it all depends on how you are going to be driving it.... That said VT Fronts will be more that enough....

A set of decent pads and good fluid should be good enough for normal street driving

expect results like below seriously though power and braking are two separate things if your aim is to reduce your braking distance upgrade your brakes otherwise, give yourself plenty of room and no problemoooo Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

brake horespower **** a bicyle brake will eventualy stop you if your a good driver and you know your limits and your cars its the getting scared that makes it fun question is will you ever panic, not want to be so scaredwright now, run out of room or find some idiot in your way (im running 400hp and this idiot pulls out in front of me he said i saw you but i thought you was parked way down the road i said no mate im pullin 400hp on bicyle brakes your the idiot that pulled out) how much horsepower dose it take to override the brakes weve all seen the little old lady in her automatic freek out and plant both peddles down only stopping because she used your cars brakes once you put brakes on it its not so scarry the only people that kind of think of this are the big car makers and they call what they make standerd
