if you like things to be a pain in the arse. Just use an extractor/easy out, if that doesn't work just drill it out re tap hole and get a new bolt for it

^^ I can vouch for using the temp sensor or coolant sensor holes. Bled my vl about 6 months ago via the temp sensor hole and not one problem.

be careful with the screw extractor cause it's easy to stuff up. make sure you got the right size and right sized pilot hole. ---------- Post added 12-12-11 at 21:32 ---------- to anyone who has a intake manifold on it's own and wants to replace the old bleed bolts because you suspect they will snap the first time you bleed them just flip the manifold upside down and spray wd40 or freeze and release spray into the thread from the bottom of the bolt and then let it soak before you crack it. when you do, unscrew part way then spray again do it up and then unscrew it again. bottom of the plenum bleed bolt can be accessed by removing a small hose.

thanks for the replays guys, had no luck with the screw extractor and i didn't really want to push the extractor tool to far incase i broke it. the bolt seems to be fairly rusted i think it may be easier to just drill and tap a new hole.

Snapped mine years ago and have been using the temp. sensor since. I have probably bled it 20 times as I was playing with cooling/radiator set ups. Haven't had a problem.
