Hi everyone just putting this out there for some advise.I have put back the running gear back into the car over the last couple of weeks. I noticed today whislt the car was up on the hoist that the tail shaft was not completely straight . The center bearing has a bigger gap on the drivers side than the passenger side. the car a 6 cyl with an auto and a b/w diff. When you look at the under carriage you can see the tail shaft is not straight. The gearbox and engien mounts all lined up when putting eveything back in
It is as if the diff has to be pushed across to the drivers side
1. is this normal ( i doubt it)
2. does the car need an adjustable panhard rod to make the diff line up with the rest of the driveline........
any ideas i will try to post a pic but i think it wiould be hard to dark to see anything Thanks

The driveline is slightly off centre from new hence some vibration under hard acceleration.

If it was on a jack in the air (with the wheels hanging down), wouldnt the whole diff be sitting further towards the passenger side because of the panhard rod? Same reason you need an adjustable one when you lower it, to line it back up to center

I will try to post a pic i might invest in an adjustable panhard rod

The driveshaft will never be straight which is why they are designed 2 piece (to flex in the middle)
This is why when guys fit a 1 piece driveshaft they hit on the floorpan.

23-11-11, 15:29 GMT+10#11 He said it was on a hoist, therefore probably not jacked off the diff
