ok so im putting a getrag 5sp behind my efi 5L in my vl calais, i was told that any manual pedals from vb-vl will fit and i got 1 off a vb and they dont fit. all the bolt hole line up but there is a inch long peice of tube that the clutch cable goes through. so i ended up swapping the manual pedals over to the auto cradle, the question is which clutch cable do i use for the conversion? and will i need to weld the metal tube back on?

Pretty sure a getrag uses a hydraulic clutch. You may be able to use the VL 6 cyl manual pedal box as it is hydraulic as oppossed to the previous models cable clutches.

The vb pedal box fits you just have to cut the fire wall about 2 inches and then it works fine.

evan if you cut the tube the hole in fire wall wont line up with the tube/hole is on the pedal box anyway so you will need to cut the fire wall anyways.maybe you can use a circle drill bit to make it tidy? also you need v8 pedals to.

enjv8le you need the metal tube that is what the clutch cable goes through and the big metal ball thing on the clutch cable stops at if that make sense. I cut my fire wall with no issues at all, i cut the width of the circle and went up about 2-3 inches and it looks and works ok. That is with a T5 not a getrag box tho.

Hi Guys, I just picked up a VL that is running a T5 with a clutch cable. Does anybody have a pic of the firewall where the cable comes through? Mine looks dodgy and I need to fix it..

Here's how mine looks: Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
